Corrections from a listener:
“Mists of Avalon” is an American novel (not French). It’s written by Marion Zimmer Bradley, the currently controversial feminist fantasy/SF author. The novel is told from the women of the story’s view point, so Morgan Le Fey, Guinevere, and Vivianne. Widely considered an important work for feminism and goddess spirituality.
